Short Biography: Sara Benjamin Neelon, PhD, MPH, RD is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health, Behavior and Society and Director of the Lerner Center for Public Health Promotion at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
She is also a faculty fellow at the Centre for Diet and Activity Research at the University of Cambridge. She has advanced training in pediatric and public health nutrition and experience coordinating birth cohorts and community-based intervention studies. Her current research focuses on early childhood obesity prevention and community and family health promotion, with studies in a number of countries, including the United States, England, and Kenya. She received her PhD and MPH from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed her postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Population Medicine at Harvard Medical School.
